<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the design burden of an ECU of an on-vehicle electronic equipment, and to reduce the number of models. <P>SOLUTION: An on-vehicle electric equipment 10 connected to a wire harness W/H arranged on a vehicle V is separately split into a function body unit 12 having an ECU 17 and a communication unit 11 forming a communication interface to the wire harness W/H. The communication unit 11 is connected to the wire harness W/H, and the ECU 17 of the function body unit 12 has a self function control software and a communication control software for the communication unit 11.
