<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head providing a good feeling of stroking. <P>SOLUTION: The lower portion of a head body 2 is thicker than the upper portion, and a concave portion 4 is provided from the rear side of the lower portion. The entrance of the concave portion 4 is a concavely stepped portion 5, the area of the opening of which is larger than the interior portion. After an elastic body 6 is inserted into the concave portion 4, a lid body 7 is fitted into the concavely stepped portion 5, and fixed by caulking or press fitting. A space portion 6a is provided in the elastic body 6.
