PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water level measuring device which can be installed even when facilities for supplying electric power do not exist near a manhole and which is advantageous in quickly performing the installation/the removal to/from the manhole. SOLUTION: A case 22 is provided with a mounting means 24 for attachably/detachably mounting the case 22 in the manhole 100. A water level sensor 12 measures the distance to the surface of the water of sewerage S. A control part 14 generates water level data indicating the level of the sewerage S on the basis of the distance measured by the water level sensor 12. A communication part 16 is constituted so as to be capable of being connected with a radio circuit of cellular phone service via an antenna 18, and is constituted so as to be capable of bi-directionally communicating with a server via the radio circuit.
