PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion-type membrane filtration apparatus that can be efficiently cleaned with a small amount of cleaning agents by uniformly supplying all membrane modules with the cleaning agents. SOLUTION: This immersion-type membrane filtration apparatus, which keeps the treated water side of a plurality of the membrane modules 13 connected each with a header pipe 15 through a branch pipe 14 and cleans the membrane modules by making the cleaning agents flow from the treated water side to the raw water side of the membrane modules under the conditions that the membrane modules are exposed to atmosphere, is equipped with a guidance member 21 between the inside of the above header pipe 15 and the treated water side of the above membrane modules that serves to transfer the cleaning agents supplied to the header pipe, to each treated water side of the membrane modules from the inside of the header pipe 15 through the inside of the above branch pipe 14.
