PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a treatment method for ballast water and apparatus which are excellent in reliability and safety, and a ship carrying the apparatus. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with a treatment chamber 3 for storing and treating the ballast water, a water impact generator 4 for generating a water impact in the treated ballast water, and a pump 4 for discharging the treated ballast water. A water impact generation section in the water impact generator 4 comprises a plurality of discharge plugs 29 and a convergence chamber 27 for causing the interference of the underwater shock waves generated by the discharge plugs 29 with each other.
