A device (1) for measuring the curvature of an arc to determine the diameter or radius of an object with the curvature. The device (1) has a support structure (3, 3A) for supporting the device (1) on the arc or for enabling the device (1) to be positioned relative to the arc. A first sensor (4) produces an output dependent upon the curvature of the arc. A controller controls the device (1) and processes the output of the sensor to provide an output indicative of the radius or diameter of the object.
