MEDIUM RATE AND HIGH RATE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medium rate or high rate battery and to form electrodes responding to these batteries.

SOLUTION: The invention presents aggregates of particles comprising graphitic carbon fluoride having a graphitic shell. The improved submicron carbon fluoride has an increased graphite content and improved uniformity. The increase in the graphite content and/or uniformity results in improved battery performance, for example, with respect to specific capacity. A preferable battery structure is prepared for the purpose of using for an implantable medical device. A suitable battery can be used for application with a high rate, medium rate, low rate or a combination or these rates.
