<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed control device for a hybrid car capable of protecting a driving motor attached at a motor output shaft directly connected with a driving shaft connected with tires. <P>SOLUTION: When a vehicle speed detected by a vehicle speed detecting means exceeds an initial value of a vehicle speed limiter value set on the same of an engine speed limit value of the driving motor, an output torque to the prescribed acceleration pedal depression amount is reduced on the basis of the vehicle speed limiter value, and the vehicle speed limiter value is changed to a low vehicle speed value lower than the initial value. Moreover, when the vehicle speed becomes at least the low vehicle speed value, the output torque is further reduced and the vehicle speed limiter value is changed to the vehicle speed value further lower than the low vehicle speed value.
