<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make paper feed pressure appropriate in response to variation of paper width and a stack amount without increasing outside dimension. <P>SOLUTION: In the paper feed cassette, an adjustment mechanism 20 comprising a joint cam 21 engaged with a joint shaft 14 fixed to a bottom plate 11 side raised and urged by a paper feed spring 15 when the papers such as A5 having narrow paper width are stacked and a torsion spring 22 or the like for giving torque to the joint cam 21 is provided on a side wall part 12b of a side restriction plate 12 for restricting the width direction of the papers stacked on the bottom plate 11. The joint cam 21 reduces large resilient force of the paper feed spring 15 in a lower range (the maximum stack) making a neutral position on the midway of a lifting range of the bottom plate 11 as a border to relax the paper feed pressure, and the joint cam 21 assists the urging force of the paper feed spring 15 in an upper range (the minimum stack). Thereby, when the paper width is narrow, the paper feed pressure by the paper feed spring 15 is retained in an appropriate range without being influenced by variation of the stack amount of paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
