<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge whose production cost and stock cost can be drastically reduced and whose production control and stock control are facilitated, and to provide an identification information tag and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The cartridge is detachably attached to the image forming apparatus, and the identification information tag in which identification information for discriminating the cartridge from another cartridge is stored is attached to the cartridge. The cartridge has a discrimination key being a projecting part or a recessed part for mechanically discriminating whether or not the cartridge can be attached on the image forming apparatus side, and the discrimination key is provided on the identification information tag.
