<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a charging roller from slipping with respect to a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: In a color laser printer 10, re-transfer toner, toner left untransferred, or the like is recovered by a brush roller 34 and is temporarily held, and toner recovered from the brush roller 34 to a photoreceptor 13 is released and is recovered to a cleaner for recovering remaining toner left untransferred on an intermediate transfer belt 14 when a cleaning mode is set or a job ends. The charging roller satisfies 0.14μm≤Rz≤1.4mμ and 0°<K≤60° wherein Rz is the surface roughness and K is the hardness, so that the charging roller 36 is prevented from slipping with respect to the photoreceptor by the toner released from the brush roller 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
