PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator oil which exhibits excellent balance among stability, lubricating properties and compatibility with a refrigerant each at a high level and permits stable operation of refrigerating air-conditioning equipment for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The refrigerator oil comprises a mineral oil having a sulfur content of at most 150 mass ppm, a nitrogen content of at most 50 mass ppm and an aromatic content (%C<SB>A</SB>) of 5-25.
