PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a profile editing system to enable modifications to source/destination color data and/or gamut maps. SOLUTION: Generally, there are three process flows for color profile editing according to the present invention. A type-A process is directed to a method for gamut mapping source color data to destination color data. The method comprises modifying the source color data in a source color space on the basis of a color profile edit. Then, the modified source color data are converted to the destination color space to produce the destination color data. Type-B processes are directed to methods for gamut mapping source color data to destination color data and then modifying the destination color data on the basis of a color profile edit to generate color data. Type-C processes are directed to color profile edits that are applied directly to the gamut map that converts the source color data to the target color space to thereby produce the destination color data.
