PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition for an electrophotographic photoreceptor, the composition which does not cause clogging in an injection nozzle due to drying or aggregation but can be stably injected and applied in uniform thickness on a conductive substrate in the method of injecting and applying a coating composition for an electrophotographic photoreceptor through an injection nozzle, to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor manufactured by using the above composition, and to provide a method for manufacturing a photoreceptor and an image forming apparatus using the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The coating composition for an electrophotographic photoreceptor is used to form a charge generating layer by injecting in a liquid drop state through an injection nozzle. The composition contains a charge generating substance and a solvent and has 1 mPa s to 10 mPa s viscosity. The solvent contains one or more kinds of high boiling point solvents having 120°C to 260°C boiling point. The high boiling point solvent is contained in an amount of 5 to 40 parts by weight in 100 parts by weight of the coating composition for an electrophotographic photoreceptor.
