PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce assembling man-hours, labor and an assembling time while preventing the occurrence of poor brazing by reducing the number of parts and brazing required portions. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger 1 comprises a header tank 5 which has both longitudinal ends formed in approximately L-shaped cross section and an intermediate brazed with a combination of a tank plate 52 formed in approximately inverted L-shaped cross section and a core plate 51 formed in approximately L-shaped cross section and joined at its bottom wall portion 51a to a tube 2. Thus, at both longitudinal ends of the head tank, the tank plate and the core plate have mutual contact to close a tank space, eliminating the need for a side cap. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
