PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material recovery apparatus for a coater capable of performing excellent coating with a simple structure by suppressing the incorporation of bubbles into an excess coating material to be recovered. SOLUTION: A recovery vat 10 is provided with a vat body 11 for receiving the excess coating material and making the coating material flow down along the bottom surface 11a and a storage tank 12 for storing the coating material received by the vat body 11, and the vat body 11 and the storage tank 12 are integrally provided to connect the bottom surface 11a of the vat body 11 and the inner surface 25a of the upstream side wall part 25 of the storage tank 12 to each other.
