<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mass-producing a hydroxynitrile lyase. <P>SOLUTION: A hydroxynitrile lyase gene where the base sequence of a gene encoding the hydroxynitrile lyase is mutated to a codon of high use frequency in a host to be transduced is provided.
