<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a library device capable of efficiently conveying a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a pair of medium storages 22 and 23 having a plurality of openings 26 for holding a plurality of recording media, the plurality of openings facing one another sandwiching a path 100a, a drive 21, a pair of rails 24a and 25a extending in parallel with each other along the path, and first and second accessors 1 and 11 moved along different rails to convey the recording medium between each storage and the drive. Each accessor is provided with a traveling mechanism 2 or 3 for sliding the accessor on the rail, a support 4 extended from the traveling mechanism, and a handling mechanism 10 elevated along the support to grip the recording medium. Each handling mechanism has a width smaller than a gap between the supports of the two accessors, and at least one of the traveling mechanisms has a width smaller than half of the gap between the supports of the two accessors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
