<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tension reducer function to reduce or eliminate excessive oppressive feeling when attaching a webbing by a motor with a simple structure at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: One end of a power spring 22 in a webbing take-up device 10 is locked to a spring holding box 24, the spring holding box 24 is rotated in the forward/reverse direction to change the set position (the locking position of the other end) of the power spring 22, and the take-up urging force by the power spring 22 is controlled (changed). Thus, excessive oppressive feeling of the webbing can be reduced or eliminated. The configuration of a single printed circuit board 40 to constitute a drive circuit of a motor 36 is simple, and the rotational position of the spring holding box 24 can be arbitrarily set by the shape of each contact pattern and the pattern length.
