PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server device, remote control system, and remote control method in which an apparatus to be operated can be remotely controlled without being affected by a distance to or positional relationship with the apparatus. SOLUTION: A home server 31 receives, from a remote controller 34 via an audio player 32, infrared data as apparatus control information for remotely controlling a hard disk recorder 33, judges that an apparatus to transfer the infrared data thereto is the hard disk recorder 33, from an apparatus ID contained in the infrared data and performs remote control by transferring the infrared data to the hard disk recorder 33.
