PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earphone (earphone microphone) which is difficult to entangle without twist in the middle and to provide an entanglement preventing method of the earphone. SOLUTION: The earphone 10 is provided with a plug part 1 connected to a portable telephone set or a portable acoustic device main body, a cord 3 extending from the plug part 1 and an earphone part 7 connected to a cord end of the cord 3. A latch 9 is installed on a surface of the plug part 1 or a cord part near the plug part 1. The cord part near the earphone part 7 is freely attachably/detachably restraint to the latch 9 so as to form the cord 3 like a rubber band. Thus, entanglement of the earphone 10 is prevented.
