PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic discharge protection device enhancing the utilization efficiency of a layout area and the switching speed of an ESD protection element and improving resistance to the electrostatic discharge of the entire display panel. SOLUTION: An electrostatic discharge prevention device comprises: a first input signal line T<SB>1</SB>; a plurality of second input signal lines T<SB>2</SB>that are formed by dividing the first input signal line; a third input signal line T<SB>3</SB>that is formed of the aggregation of the plurality of the second input signal lines and connected with the internal circuit of a display; and a plurality of electrostatic discharge protection units (MP<SB>1</SB>to MP<SB>n</SB>and MN<SB>1</SB>to MN<SB>n</SB>) that are arranged correspondingly to the second input signal lines to allow the ESD pulse applied on the first input signal line to escape by shunting it with the second input signal lines. The ESD pulse applied on the first input signal line is allowed to escape from the second input signal lines by shunting the plurality of the second input signal lines and bringing a plurality of the electrostatic discharge protection units into on-states, respectively, so that they do not enter a third input signal line.
