PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing abnormalities of an oil transformer, capable of accurately obtaining diagnostic results, including the degree of the abnormalities, even by an inexperienced person, within a short period of time. SOLUTION: The method for diagnosing the abnormality of the oil transformer comprises the steps of forming a self-organizing map learned by input data including data in a state of the working oil transformer digitized and data, with regard to a dissolved gas in an insulating oil then, obtaining the data regarding the dissolved gas in the insulating oil of the oil transformer to be diagnosed, and obtaining a state of the oil transformer to be diagnosed by the self-organizing map, by inputting the data regarding the dissolved gas of the oil transformer to be diagnosed.
