PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load detecting device which is configured to be difficult to detect load from the directions other than the load detecting direction and enable accurate detection of load from the load detecting direction, and is formed as a structure with high strength as a whole. SOLUTION: The device comprises a load transferring member 2 supported by a supporting member so as to have an elastic displacement region which generates elastic displacement upon reception of force from a predetermined direction, a load sensor 5 which is provided in contact with the elastic displacement region of the load transferring member 2 and detects the load generated by the elastic displacement, and a load sensor supporting member 4 which supports the load sensor 5 and is connected to the supporting member 3, in this order in a predetermined direction, wherein the supporting member 3 is provided without any contact with the load sensor 5 and the load transferring member 2 has lower rigidity in the predetermined direction than that of the load sensor 5.
