PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding mechanism for a joint assembly capable of repeatedly disassembling the joint assembly in accordance with necessity and assembling it again while providing desired resistance to the retraction of the joint assembly during its use. SOLUTION: This joint assembly includes the female mounting assembly, and the female mounting assembly includes a tube main body having a nut axially rotatable and movable to the tube main body, and an approximately U-shaped spring fixed and connected with the nut. The spring has a pair of arms placed over the tube main body when the nut is inserted in a state of covering the tube main body, and having a clearance in the lateral direction, and spring arm end parts engageable with knurl at both sides of the tube main body. The spring arm end parts are shaped to provide higher resistance to the rotation of the nut in the unfastening/retracting direction in comparison with that when the nut is fastened to a male joint assemble, in a case when the torque is sufficiently applied to the nut on a male mounting assembly.
