PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support device for a work step of a paving machine, which protects the operator so as to be hardly affected by vibrations of a screed. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the support device for the work step, when the screed 13 vertically vibrates, a block of a hanging member 20 and the screed 13, and a block of the hanging member 20 and a support bracket 17 are rotated with respect to each other, whereby the screed 13 is rotated with respect to the support bracket 17. Further while an elastic body 24 interposed between the screed 13 and the support bracket 17 is subjected to expansion/contraction, an engaging pin 19 vertically moves in a slot 18 to maintain the support bracket 17 in its original location, to thereby minimize vibrations transmitted from the screed 13 to the support bracket 17.
