PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway apparatus or the like whereby an apparatus and an application in a home network can be utilized through communication services by using the SIP. SOLUTION: In the case of transmitting/receiving media between a first terminal of a first network and a second terminal at the outside of the first network, an SIP connection is established between the gateway apparatus and the second terminal, when the first terminal is a terminal compatible with the SIP, the SIP connection is established between the gateway apparatus and the first terminal, and when the first terminal is a terminal incompatible with the SIP, a SIP address and a port number used for transmitting/receiving the media are set between the gateway apparatus and the first terminal by utilizing a bundle stored in the gateway apparatus, and generating a media transfer means utilized when the media received from the second terminal are transmitted to the first terminal and a media transfer means for transferring the media from the first terminal to the second terminal can transmit/receive the media between the first and second terminals.
