The tap has a housing with connected flexible hoses for hot and cold water, which pass over pre-shutoff valves. The housing is mounted in a wall aperture, and this is closed by a rose. The housing (1) is displaceable towards the wall (2) and the opening (20) is dimensioned, so that when the operating unit (13) mounted on the housing is located on the aperture edge, only one of the pre-shutoff valves (14,15) is accessible through the aperture. The flexible hoses are of a length to permit sliding of the housing in fitted position, so that movement in one direction gives access to one valve, and movement in the other direction gives access to the other valve.
