<p>An electronic dictionary includes: dictionary data extraction means for extracting interpretation data corresponding to an entry word corresponding character data which has been inputted, from a dictionary data memory; abbreviation, etc. selection means for selecting a particular abbreviation, etc. in the interpretation data; explanatory note data extraction means for extracting explanatory note data such as a selected abbreviation from an explanatory note data memory; display switching means for displaying the extracted interpreted data and the explanatory note data while switching them; and display means for displaying the data selected by the display switching means. While a user is referencing the interpretation date in the dictionary, the explanatory note such as an abbreviation which the user wants to know can be displayed.</p> |
