<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery using single sulfur as an anode substance, having improved charging/discharging efficiency, capable of performing charging/discharging reaction with good reversibility without damaging the property of the single sulfur having large theoretical capacity even if an ether group electrolyte is used. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprising an anode 1 containing an anode active substance, a cathode 2 containing a cathode active substance capable of storing/releasing lithium, and a nonaqueous electrolyte 4, single sulfur is used as the anode active substance, and at least ZnO and Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, or ZnO and Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>are added to the anode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
