<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of the maintenance operation for each of two rotary cylinders contacting oppositely with each other and also to reduce the burden of an operator. <P>SOLUTION: This safety device is equipped in the constitution with the first and second rotary cylinders 4 and 5 contacting oppositely with each other, a sensing means 24 provided in the vicinity of the opposite contact part 18 of the first and second rotary cylinders 4 and 5 and sensing a foreign substance, first and second openable-closable covers 6 and 7 provided respectively corresponding to the first and second rotary cylinders 4 and 5 and covering the cylinders 4 and 5 respectively, and a shifting means which disposes the sensing means 24 at a first sensing position in proximity to the first rotary cylinder 4 in the state of opening of the first cover 6 and disposes the sensing means 24 at a second sensing position in proximity to the second rotary cylinder 5 in the state of opening of the second cover 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
