<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining whether a test chicken is avian influenza-resistive or not by elucidating relation between Mx gene type possessed by a chicken individual and the avian influenza-resistivity of the chicken individual and based on the obtained information. <P>SOLUTION: The fact that the chicken is more RNA virus-resistive when the amino acid at the 631 position of amino acid sequence of the chicken Mx protein is homo of asparagine or hetero of serine than when the amino acid is homo of serine is elucidated by investigation of relation between Mx gene type possessed by a chicken individual and the avian influenza-resistivity of the chicken individual. By detecting DNA encoding the amino acid of the position of the chicken, the resistivity against RNA viruses such as influenza virus is determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
