<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an expandable printing unit so as to selectively realize the advantages of a satellite printing unit and a rubber-rubber printing unit. <P>SOLUTION: In an expandable H-type printing unit, within a printer-side wall, the maximum number of holes are always provided for a printer cylinder and roller/distributor in an ink system or a dampening water system as required. In cases where a rubber-rubber printing unit can be realized, a hole for a satellite cylinder and holes for upper or lower rubber cylinder-plate cylinder pairs are not used, both surfaces of a web for printing paper which passes between the rubber cylinders can be printed in color as two rubber cylinder-plate cylinder pairs which form a bridge are set into respective holes. In a changeover to the satellite printing unit, the web for printing paper is wound by the satellite cylinder with one surface being printed in four colors as respective cylinders are set into four holes for plate cylinders/rubber cylinders which are not used in the previous time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
