PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which allows repair of a display failure due to a short circuit defect of an auxiliary capacitor electrode in a simple manner and to provide a manufacturing method (defect repair method) of the display device. SOLUTION: A display device includes a source line 2 for supplying a display signal, a display pixel electrode 8, and a TFT 5 for switching an electrical connection between the source line 2 and the pixel electrode 8. The TFT 5 includes a source electrode 4b electrically connected to the source line 2, a drain electrode 4c electrically connected to the pixel electrode 8, and a gate electrode 1a for controlling an electrical connection between the source electrode 4b and the drain electrode 4c. A first auxiliary capacitor electrode 4d and a second auxiliary capacitor electrode 4e are connected to the drain electrode 4c and respective connection portions between the drain electrode 4c and the auxiliary capacitor electrodes 4d and 4e are formed of a semiconductor material.
