<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular lighting system capable of preventing attraction of the sight line of a driver to the side when lighting a lamp for additional lighting to additionally illuminate the front or the side of a vehicle, and preventing sense of fear of a pedestrian. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicular lighting system, a control means to control the lighting/extinguishing of a lamp for additional lighting lights the lamp for additional lighting when the steering angle of an automobile is equal to or larger than a predetermined value, and changes and controls the dimming ratio (the ratio of the change in luminous intensity to the change of the steering angle) at the lighting according to the traveling state of a vehicle. By controlling the dimming ratio to be smaller as the vehicle speed is higher when lighting the lamp for additional lighting according to the vehicle speed, averting of the sight line of a driver from the traveling direction can be prevented without any additional operation by a driver, and any sense of fear of a pedestrian can be eliminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
