<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device and a recording and reproducing device which safely conduct the switching of a power source to a USB. <P>SOLUTION: When a USB jack 43 is inserted in the USB connector 15 of a MD player 10 driven with a built-in battery 17 as a power source, a system controller 18 starts to switch the power source from a built-in battery 17 to the VBus 42 of the USB. When the power source is switched, the system controller 18 stops processing of the MD player 10, shifts the MD player 10 to a state in which it can be driven also by the electric power supplied from the VBus, logically connects the USB, and then requests the supply of electric power enough to drive the MD player 10 to a PC 20 after the logical connection is completed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
