PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management support method which can manage the entrance and sailing of a small ship and can quickly request rescue even at the time of the occurrence of an accident. SOLUTION: This management support method of a small ship is composed of an individual information registration stage (S1) in which an access number, an e-mail address of a GPS cellular phone (12) and an ID of the ship (14) are registered in a monitoring server (18) of a monitoring center (16), a return-to-port scheduled time registration stage (S2) in which a return-to-port schedule time is registered, a return-to-port confirmation stage (S3) for connecting when the ship does not return to a port by the return-to-port scheduled time and a rescue requesting stage (S4) in which the monitoring server accesses a portable communication terminal, acquires positioning data (B), transmits the positioning data to a predetermined agency (22) and requests rescue.
