<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a service selection method for seamless services in a dynamic network. <P>SOLUTION: An overlay network with a hierarchical structure, in which end proxies serves under a plurality of intermediary proxies. Route and service information on each proxy is accumulated in higher-order intermediary proxies. Also, service indices on the service information accumulated in the intermediary proxies are distributed between the respective intermediary proxies to be held therein. In response to a service search request to search the service indices, one and all the intermediary proxies are specified which have the end proxies possessed of desired services as subordinates, so that information is collected which contains cost values of routes from these proxies to the candidates of destinations. Further, by adding appropriate correction to the cost value collected here and returning the corrected cost value to the proxy of the requester, the proxy of the requester selects a proper destination from at least one candidate of the destination connected directly to the desired service, on the basis of the cost value received to perform connection to the destination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
