PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system capable of avoiding duplicated printing of a copy guard pattern. SOLUTION: A PC 1 generates either image data, having the copy guard pattern added thereto or image data having no copy restraint pattern added thereto, based on the setting, and transmits the image data. A printer 2 detects whether the copy restraint pattern is added to the image data received from the PC 1, and decides whether the copy restraint pattern is to be added to the received image data, based on the detected result.
