PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device surely held and easy to assemble, in relation to a switch device used for operation of an audio or air-conditioning apparatus of an automobile, and to its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: By composing this switch device by providing a lower case 15 covering the undersurface of an upper case 1 with a reinforcing part 15A projecting upward and contacting the inside surface of an arm part 1C, the arm part 1C is formed so as to be prevented from falling inward by the reinforcing part 15A after mounting an operation body 2 to the upper case 1, whereby this application provides the switch device that allows the operation body 2 to be surely held to the upper case 1 even if the arm part 1C is formed of an extremely hard material, and that is easily be assembled without needing excess force in assembly.
