PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method of information recording capable of succeeding the information such as the chapter information set up in the content reference information of the dubbing source to a dubbing destination when dubbing by changing the data rates, and to improve the user's convenience. SOLUTION: Contents are created for a dubbing destination by reading the contents in the dubbing source to decode and encode in a predetermined data rate. Then, by verifying the entry point of the contents in the dubbing source and inputting the verified entry point to the dubbing destination, the contents are recorded (copied).
