PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foundation of a building, which sufficiently secures strength against a horizontal force or a vertical force, so as to be also suited to a foundation with a concentrated load imposed thereon, such as a foundation of a gravestone, and a foundation of a general building such as a house, and which can be inexpensively and simply constructed in a short period of time, and to provide a construction method for the foundation of the building. SOLUTION: A plurality of foundation piles 5 are driven at intervals into ground 3 whereon rubble stones 2 are laid; through-holes 6 horizontally crossing one another are formed in the upper part of each foundation pile 5; a main reinforcement 7 is inserted into the through-hole 6, so that the respective foundation piles 5 can be connected together by means of the main reinforcement 7; a plurality of auxiliary reinforcements 8, which are arranged at intervals in the main reinforcement 7, are connected together; and concrete 9 is placed and hardened so that the foundation pile 5, the main reinforcement 7 and the auxiliary reinforcement 8 can be integrated together on the rubble stones 2.
