The circuit arrangement (SC) has an input (P) for connection to an electrical energy supply (PS) and potential divider with a measurement output (S) for controlling voltage monitoring. The circuit arrangement has a current sensor (CS) for determining a load current (I). The potential divider contains a switchable element (X) coupled to the current sensor so that a changeover of the element takes place at a defined load current level so that a voltage changes occurs at the measurement output. - Independent claims are also included for the following: - (a) a monitoring device with an inventive circuit arrangement - (b) an electrical power supply with an integrated circuit arrangement - (c) and a method of checking the supply of an electric load
