PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat storage air-conditioning system capable of saving the energy of an entire system and a method of operating the heat storage air-conditioning system. SOLUTION: This heat storage air-conditioning system comprises a connected complete mixing type water storage heat tank 100 formed by connecting in series a plurality of tanks 1, 1, ... ranging from a start end tank to a final end tank and a heat source machine 6. The system also comprises a cool water supply pipe 7 having one end connected to the cool water outlet of the heat source machine and the other end connected to the start end tank, a water amount switching means 4 connected to the cool water inlet of the heat source machine, a hot take-out pipe 2 having one end connected to the water amount switching means and the other end connected to the final end tank, and a low temperature side take-out pipe 3 having one end connected to the water amount switching means and the other end connected to the tank near the intermediate position or the tank nearer the final end tank among the plurality of tanks connected in series.
