POLYESTER MONOFILAMENT FOR SCREEN GAUZE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester monofilament for screen gauze capable of providing high-mesh screen gauze having good weaving property and excellent in endurance and printing accuracy. SOLUTION: The polyester monofilament for screen gauze is a core-sheath type conjugated monofilament containing a polyester mainly consisting of polyethylene naphthalate as a core component and containing a polyester mainly consisting of polyethylene terephthalate as a sheath component. In the polyester monofilament, the birefringence of the core component is kept to≥0.32 and the birefringence of the sheath component is kept to≤0.17 and the difference between the birefringence of the core component and the sheath component is kept to≤0.26 and the area ratio of the core component/the sheath component in the cross section of the monofilament is kept to (90/10) to (50/50).
