PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low pressure steam heater in which high pressure within a treatment chamber is avoided and safety is raised. SOLUTION: In the low pressure steam heater equipped with the treatment chamber 2 which heats an object 1 to be heated with low pressure steam below atmospheric pressure, a means 3 for supplying steam to the treatment chamber 2, a pressure reducing means 4 of the treatment chamber 2 having a vacuum path 14 and vacuum units 15, 16, and 18 formed in this vacuum path, and a control means 8 which controls the inside of the treatment chamber 2 below atmospheric pressure and heating treats the object 1 to be heated, a safety mechanism, which releases high pressure steam having a pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure of the treatment chamber 2 out of the treatment chamber 2 through the vacuum path 14 at the time of operation stopping of the vacuum units 15, 16, and 18 by the control means 8, is included.
