PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a token counter preventing a fraud by a player. SOLUTION: When an identification token is put in a slit, this token counter 10 reads identification data from an RFID tag attached to the identification token via an antenna 54 and a control part identifies whether or not the identification data is appropriate. A branch part 56 is generally put in a state of sending the token in the side of an outlet 18 and, only for a predetermined time from a time point when the identification data are identified to be appropriate, put in a state of sending the token to the side of a recovery hole 16. A photointerrupter 60 counting the tokens is provided between the branch 56 and the recovery hole 16 and, unless the identification data are identified to be appropriate, does not count the tokens.
