A communication apparatus of the invention is a communication apparatus which is equipped with a main unit which carries out voice communication through a public line and transmits and receives a mail through a public line, and a wireless handset which carries out voice communication with the main unit and receives information regarding the mail which the main unit received, and in which the main unit has a first communication section which carries out communication with the wireless handset, and a printing section which prints out a mail text of the received mail, and the wireless handset has a second communication section which carries out communication with the main unit, and a display section which displays the mail text which the main unit received or the transmitter information, wherein the main unit has a printing instruction section which instructs so as to print out the received mail text, and a control section which has the printing section printed out a mail text which is identical to the mail text that is displayed on the display section of the wireless handset or a mail text which corresponds to the transmitter information, by a printing instruction from the printing instruction section.
