A dumbbell or barbell comprising a bar and a weight assembly mounted on an end portion of the bar. The dumbbell or barbell comprises a first securing member for securing the weight assembly on the end portion. The dumbbell or barbell further comprises an additional second securing member for securing the weight assembly on the same end portion such that the first and second securing members each independently secure the weight assembly on the end portion. The first and second securing members each cooperate with the projection to secure the weight assembly between the projection and the respective securing members.
