Disclosed is a motor vehicle door clawing mechanism that provides protection in case of a lateral impact during accidents. Said door clawing mechanism comprises interlockable clawing elements (4, 5) that are disposed on the door (2) and the bottom door frame (3) of the body in the lower door region. The aim of the invention is to produce said door clawing mechanism in an efficient manner. Said aim is achieved by embodying the clawing element that is disposed on the door in the form of a profiled rail (5) which is used as a support for receiving a door seal (6).
